Meet Ms. Ottinger

Ms. Ottinger grew up locally in Saratoga. She left Northern California to pursue her BA in psychology at UC San Diego. Her interest in research led her to Philadelphia where she entered a Doctoral program in Cognitive Psychology exploring aspects of memory development. It was while she was in graduate school that Ms. Ottinger realized her love of teaching. During this time she taught a number of different psychology courses at Temple University, including research methods, statistics and cognitive psychology. After receiving her PhD and returning to California, Ms. Ottinger taught at Cal State, Fullerton before having her daughter, Devon. She then decided to pursue a career in elementary education.

This is Ms. Ottinger’s 18th year teaching at Blossom Hill. She spent her first 16 years teaching 5th grade, and she is so excited for her second year in 4th grade. When not working, Ms. Ottinger can be found reading, hiking, riding her Peloton, playing with her two rescue dogs (Nigel and Olive), or hanging out with her daughter, Devon, if she is home from college.
